I always dreamt of seeing Switzerland in the summer. As it's a renowned skiing destination, I feel like the Swiss summer is often overlooked. After realizing my dream, I can confidently say Switzerland is one of those rare places that simply cannot be overhyped, no matter how many photos or videos you look at beforehand. No matter how many people you talk to who have been there, no description can encapsulate the raw beauty that exists in the Swiss Alps. Everything is more vibrant and more vast than in your wildest dreams. The colors, saturation, contrast, and texture dazzle your eyes. The fresh scent of wildflowers dances in the wind. The sound of cattle bells ring in surround-sound.

I am so lucky to have spent the 2 days I did in the Swiss Alps with one of my very best friends, Kat. We did a hike outside of Interlaken called the Schynige Platte to First trail (see here on All Trails), which starts with taking the historic Schynige Platte-Bahn train (built in 1893) into the upper half of the range. And boy were we gifted with the most gorgeous, warm weather and incredible visibility of the mountain range all around us! New sights and scenes were unveiled at every twist and turn; my curiosity and excitement for what the next view could bring drowned out any feelings of fatigue. This is your sign to go to Switzerland in the summer.

My long distance bff, Kat and me before the hike!
